Northerns cricket presentation enjoyed by all

The annual Benoni Northern Cricket Club presentation ceremony at the Northerns club house was indifferently attended but was none the less convivial and enjoyable affair.

Brian Alexander acted as master of ceremonies for the evening and announced the names of the many trophy winners and the presentations were made by Mrs Pat Anderson and club chairman, Pat Conway, following the lavish cheese and wine party.

• Most Improved Junior: Archie Heath.

• Most Consistent Junior: Stuart Scott.

• Most Improved Player: Peter de Beer.

• Best Captain Award: Bob Evans.

• Fielder of the Year: Rodney Scheepers.

• Bowler of the Year: Neville de Villiers.

• Batsman of the Year: Garth Loots.

• Sportsman of the Year: Lindsay Holkaft.

• Most Improved Player: Peter Walker.
