About
Ekurhuleni's Premier Cricket Club
Benoni Northerns Cricket Club (BNCC) is a Premier cricket club in Ekurhuleni – both in terms of facilities and on-the-field performance. Our Junior and Senior league teams account for a membership of roughly 250 members combined, ranging from ages 7 to 65. BNCC operates as a sub section under the auspices of Benoni Northerns Sports Club (BNSC).
Early days
Our cricket club saw its beginnings in the early 1960’s as St Patrick’s Cricket Club, founded by Father Ford. In the 70’s, the club moved to its existing premises on Brodigan Street in Rynfield, Benoni, where it was formally established as Benoni Northerns Cricket Club in 1972. Our first proud chairman was Ray van der Wagen. In 1973, BNCC we won promotion to the Premier League and have played there ever since.
Many great cricketers who began their careers at BNCC have gone on to play at provincial and national level. Our greatest claim to fame is old-boy Denis Lindsay, who played 124 first-class matches and represented the Proteas in 19 Test matches.

The running and general maintenance of all our facilities is covered by our junior and senior member subscriptions.
We are very proud of our achievements on and off the field thus far, which we owe to the hard work from club members and volunteers. We are committed to the development of cricket, creating a healthy environment for our communities and spreading the ideals that cricket teaches.
